Elevated levels of certain types of immature white blood cells, including metamyelocytes, have been observed in patients with certain kinds of leukemia and other hematologic malignancies. Nevertheless, it's important to remark that elevated metamyelocytes alone wouldn't necessarily be diagnostic of cancer, as other factors can influence their stages further.
