Pelvic Ultrasound for Cancer Detection worth the Hype?

I've had a pelvic ultrasound done recently, but not especially for cancer detection. I feel it's largely employed to examine the reproductive organs and detect issues like cysts or fibroids. but I'm curious too if it can pick up signs of cancer.
