I not too long ago came across some gum cancer photos on the internet, and I need to say, they have been truly disturbing. But it got me contemplating, are these types of images really needed to raise awareness on the risks of gum cancer?

That's a valid point. I surprise if there's a good line between raising awareness and simply traumatizing people. Plus, what on those who are already suffering from gum cancer? Wouldn't these photographs just add to their distress?

I think providing details about prevention techniques, typical check-ups, and healthy habits could be just as effective in raising awareness without resorting to graphic images. Soon after all, education and early detection are key in fighting gum cancer.
