Sure! stage 1a melanoma refers to an early stage of skin cancer. It's localized and hasn't spread beyond the skin. The tumor thickness is less than 1 mm, and it may or may not be ulcerated (broken skin).

Is there any distinct treatment for phase 1a melanoma?

usually, surgery is the main remedy. Doctors remove the abnormal region and a small area of surrounding skin. For some cases, they may well also perform a sentinel lymph node biopsy to examine for any spread to nearby lymph nodes.

What happens if cancer cells are found in the lymph nodes for the duration of the biopsy?

If cancer cells are detected in the sentinel lymph nodes, the phase changes to stage 3. Doctors may advise regular ultrasound scans and other treatments to reduce the risk of recurrence.
