hi everyone, I recently learned on desmoid tumor cancer and it's quite confusing. Can somebody explain what it is exactly?

That's correct. Those tumors can occur anyplace in the body but are commonly found in the abdominal wall. they are noncancerous, but they can be locally aggressive, meaning they can invade nearby tissues and organs.

So, if they're noncancerous, why are they referred to as tumor cancer ?

Great question! while desmoid tumors are technically noncancerous, they can behave like cancer in terms of growth and invasion. They can on top cause significant hurt to surrounding structures.
